What is Acupuncture 

Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to support health and treat a wide range of physical, mental, and emotional conditions. It involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles into specific points on the body, known as acupuncture points, to stimulate a response. These points lie along pathways called meridians, which are believed to carry the body’s vital energy, or "Qi" (pronounced “chee”). By restoring balance and promoting the smooth flow of Qi, acupuncture helps to improve overall well-being.

A Therapy Rooted in History
Acupuncture has been practiced for over 2,500 years and is one of the oldest continually used healing systems in the world. Originating in ancient China, it developed through careful observation of the human body, nature, and the interconnections between them. Over centuries, acupuncture has evolved and today it is recognised and practiced globally. Modern research continues to explore how acupuncture influences the nervous system, hormones, and circulation, helping to explain its effectiveness from both traditional and biomedical perspectives.
